How to copy voice of HERE Maps into Lumia (WP8.1 only)

Here Maps (Windows Phone 8.1) does not download voice navigation files anymore.


Solution: switch the phone to Mass Storage mode and copy voice files into folder


DATA\USERS\DefApps\APPDATA\{31BBC68C-503E-4561-8D85-A294D54DF06F}\Local\diskcache\voices


You may need to change permissions of the folder APPDATA: you must set admin account of yout PC as an owner of this folder, after this grant full access permissions to admin account to this folder, copy voice files and at the end change the owner of this folder back to "system"

How to copy:

1. Install TotalCommander  https://www.ghisler.com/

2. Install Sysinternals: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/psexec

3. Login to Windows from Admin Account


5. Run

   psexec -i -s cmd.exe

6. In new cmd.exe window run two commands

cd "c:\Program Files\totalcmd\"

totalcmd64.exe

7. Connect your Lumia to PC, switch to Mass Storage mode using Windows Phone Internals

8. Using TotalCommander copy downloaded voice files (as folders, of course) into this directory of Mass Storage drive:

DATA\USERS\DefApps\APPDATA\{31BBC68C-503E-4561-8D85-A294D54DF06F}\Local\diskcache\voices

Note: The location of the maps (not voice files) in internal storage is

E:\data\shareddata\MapData

where e: is the letter assigned to the phone in Mass Storage mode (by Windows Phone Internals)

Workaround for synchronization error of Microsoft hotmail.com/outlook.com account on W10M Lumia

  Для использования email цлиентов на старых устройствах надо использовать «пароли для приложений» (application password). На «нулевом» этапе включаем опция «пароль для приложений». К сожалению, в большинстве случаев придется включить двухфакторную аутентификацию (2FA, two factor authentication), без которой нельзя сгенерировать пароль для приложения. Это может быть номер телефона / СМС, TOTP клиент (Google Authenticator, Aegis, Microsoft Authenticator) или Email (для hotmail.com).
