Working email services for Windows Phone 7.x phones (no SSL required)
Due to expired certificates, smartphones on WP7.x cannot connect to any public email services (Gmail, Yahoo, mail.com, hotmail.com/outlook.com etc.). A service that works without SSL is required.
Here they are:
1.
This is a social network reminiscent of Twitter in 2010. Registration does not require any personal data (including phone number). An alternative email for password reset is optional.
After registration, you get a username (which is also your email address) FirstName.LastName@eno.one
Webmail interface: https://eno.one/mail/
Email client settings (any client): https://eno.one/mail/client/
Username: your email address
Password: your account password
Servers: mail.eno.one (POP, IMAP, SMTP)
IMAP port: 143 (with and without SSL/TLS)
POP port: 110 (with and without SSL/TLS)
SMTP port: 587 (with and without SSL/TLS)
Encryption (optional): TLS (STARTTLS)
Everything is free.
2.
Alternative service ($10 per year): purelymail.com (the price includes one email address in the purelymail.com domain and email hosting for an unlimited number of custom domains).
Login: your email address (including addresses on custom domains)
Password: your mailbox password
IMAP: imap.purelymail.com:993 SSL/TLS or 143 without SSL
SMTP: smtp.purelymail.com:465/SSL/TLS or 587/STARTTLS or 587 without SSL
A nice addition: as of today, if you register a numeric domain (consisting only of digits, 6-9 digits) in the .xyz domain, it costs $1 per year "forever" (not just for the first year): [https://gen.xyz/number](https://gen.xyz/number)
I linked two such numeric domains to my purelymail account.
3.
https://juno.com (only POP3/SMTP, no IMAP)
Requires an American number for registration
4. (unstable, may not work)
https://i.ua (only POP3/SMTP, no IMAP)
Works unreliably
Requires a Ukrainian mobile number for registration
Not accessible from Russia
SMTP is paid but cheap - about $1 per year. Only Ukrainian cards are accepted for payment.
